Duncan, SC: George Elijah Young, 84, of 108 Rosewood Circle, husband of Gladys Grayson Young of the home, died Sunday, October 22, 2017 in Pelham  Medical Center, Greer, SC.

Native of Laurens County, SC, he was a son of the late Jimmy and Eula Mae Gilliam Young, a US Army Veteran, a member of Greater St. James Temple in Inman, SC, a former employee of Allen Bennett Memorial Hospital.  

Also surviving are: sons, David Young of Easley, SC and Paul Beachum of Greer; daughters, Deborah Pearson of Greer, SC, Sharon Foster of Lyman, SC, Georgette Young of Greenville, SC, Angela Young of Woodruff, SC, Teresa Young of the home and Eula Earle of Charlotte, NC; sisters, Emma Young of Duncan, SC, Ruth Dogan of Woodruff, SC, Dora Hunter of Baltimore, MD, Gimmie Nell Smith of Anderson, SC and Drucilla Young of Pottsville, PA; 23 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Services will be held 2:30 pm Saturday, October 28, 2017 in Mayfield Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Darrell Hughes, officiating . Burial will follow in Shilo Memorial Cemetery, Inman, SC.

The family will receive friends at the home.
