Spartanburg, SC: Calvin David Allen of 6115 Melvin Drive, son of the late Daniel Calvin and Gloria Mildred Ferguson Allen was born in Brooklyn, NY on November 2, 1955.

He attended John Adams High School in South Ozone Park, NY and continued his education by attending Tabernacle School of Theology in Spartanburg, SC. He was united in holy matrimony to the former Azalee Tinsley and to this union two children were born.

Calvin, affectionately known as “Deacon Calvin” was a charter member of the Original Tabernacle of Prayer under the leadership of Pastor Bishop David McHaney, where he was Ordained as a Deacon. He was a former employee of Dritz and International Paper Company.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. A good friend and Neighbor, he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Surviving are: a son, Cedric Joe (Tabitha) Dendy of Greer, SC; a daughter, Gloria Allen (Lee) Kittrell of Spartanburg, SC; brothers, Bernard (Idoletta) Allen, Sr. of Wellford, SC and Eric (Ann) Allen of Flushing, NY; a sister, Dorren (Leroy) Smith of Duncan, SC; 6 grandchildren; 4 great grand children; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, November 25, 2017 in The Gilmore Mortuary Chapel with Dr. C. D. Moses and Bishop Eddie Bogier, Officiating.

Viewing will be 12:00 O’clock Noon until the hour of service in the mortuary chapel.

The family will receive friends at the home of his daughter, Gloria Kittrell, 454 Bethlehem Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29301
