Freddie Owens III Obituary

Lyman, SC: Freddie Owens III 66, husband of Sherry Wallace Owens of 524 Bridgetowne Court answered the Masters call on Monday  March 26, 2018 in St. Francis Downtown Medical Center, Greenville, SC.

A native of Orangeburg County, SC, he was a son of the late Freddie and Myrtis Seawright Owens. Educated in the public schools of Orangeburg County, he was a 1969 graduate of Orangeburg High School where he was a member of the football, track and basketball teams. He was a member of The Block O Club. He furthered his education by receiving an Associate Degree from Orangeburg Calhoun Technical College. Freddie was employed as a machine operator for ABB Industries of Greenville, SC.

He was preceded in death by: a brother, Wilbur Owens.   

Also surviving are:   sons, Daniel Owens of Mytle Beach, SC, Fred Owens IV of Greenville,SC, Brellyn and David Wallace of Greer;  daughter, Ashley Owens of Washington, DC and Denesha Gambrell of Greenville,SC; sisters,Patricia Owens of Columbia,SC and Linda Ghani of Orangeburg, SC; 8 grandchildren; nieces, nephews  a host of other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 pm Monday, April 2, 2018 in New Hope Baptist Church with Bishop Allen Bruton, officiating. Burial will follow 11:00 am Tuesday, April 3, 2018 in Crestlawn Belleville Memorial Gardens in Orangeburg, SC.

 The family is at the home.
