Greer, SC: Mark Cleveland Ford the son of the late Alvin Butler and the late Annie Bell Ford,was born on October 5, 1957 in Allen-Bennett Memorial Hospital, Greer, SC.
Mark attended the public schools of Greenville County, SC and was a former employee of Ronnie’s Trim Shop in Greenville, SC as an automobile upholsterer. He was a member of New Jerusalem Baptist Church.
Some of the loves of his life was cooking, The Gamecock’s Football Team and spending time with his grandchildren. Over the years he accumulated many friends. To know him was to love him. He will be greatly missed in the home and the community.
On Saturday Afternoon, April 27, 2019, precisely at 5:14 in the afternoon, The Lord in his great wisdom dispatched an Angel to Spartanburg Regional Hospice House to escort Mark from his earthly home to his heavenly home.
Surviving are: his wife, Tena Irby Ford of Greer, SC; 2 daughters, Taji Sewell of Greenville, SC and Taia Sewell of Columbia, SC; a brother, Lee (Francis) Ford of Greenville, SC; 2 sisters, Robin (Emanuel) Murphy of Greer, SC and Dionne Ford of Utica, NY; 3 grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Saturday in Rock Hill Baptist Church #1 with the pastor, Rev. Willie Choice and Pastor Corri F. Wardlaw, officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 PM Friday afternoon at The Gilmore Mortuary.
