Tears will leave no stains; Time will ease the pain
For every light that fade; Something beautiful remains
Roger had been in the storm way too long, so on Wednesday, September 19, 2018, as the morning clouds passed us by, he gently took hold and entered into the shelter of God’s Kingdom.
Roger was born in Greenville, S.C. to Lee Alvin Miller of Greer, SC and Sandra Gail Miller of Inman, SC on October 16, 1966. In 1969 Roger and his mother moved north to Washington, D.C. He began his formal education in the District of Columbia Public School System. In the seventh grade he relocated to Maryland and continued his education in that State. He attended Wheaton High School in Wheaton, Maryland where he excelled in sports, particularly football. He went on to become one of the school’s great football players. Roger was a 1985 graduate of Wheaton High School. He also had a passion for Bowling and joined a bowling team with his late Aunt Mary and late Uncle Joseph Gant where they won numerous trophies.
Roger began his working career with a neighbor who had his own business in Maryland but the family moved to Delaware. Roger had established himself as one of the company’s best workers in home remodeling and painting. As a result, he was asked to continue his work with the company in Delaware, which he proudly accepted and moved to Dover, Delaware. Roger made his home there and was in the process of establishing his own business when he became ill. He loved his work as a Professional Painter and working on cars was a natural hobby for him.
On Wednesday, September 19, 2018 in Bay Health Medical Center At Kent General Hospital in Dover, DE, The Lord in His Great Wisdom dispatched an Angel to escort him from his earthly home to his heavenly home, not built by hands.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Darrell Lee Palmer.
Also surviving are: his step father, Albert Hawkins Sr. of Inman, SC; sons, Delante' (Rhoneka) Morgan of Gaithersburg, MD and Roger Lee Miller Jr. of Silver Springs, MD; a daughter, Ms. Ebony Johnson of Hagerstown MD; grandmother, Mrs. Lucille Miller of Taylors, SC; brothers, Albert Lee Hawkins Jr. of Inman, SC, Marcus and Chris Miller of Greenville, SC and Trumon Miller of Greer, SC; a sister, Ms. Diane Michelle Hawkins of Jessup, MD; a niece Kennedy Kelis Hawkins: 7 grandchildren; a host of other relatives and many friends.
