Billy Joe Johnson

Billy Joe Johnson 82, of 839 St. Mark Road, took his leap into eternity on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at the home of his daughter, Billie Joyce Glenn, 803 South Texas Ave., Greenville, SC.

Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late James Benjamin and Laeunice Owens Johnson.

Billy was educated in the public schools of Greenville County, a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church, a Viet Nam Veteran of the U S Army and a former employee of Roadway Trucking Company.

He loved NASCAR, riding his Motorcycle with his friends in the Steel Wheel Motorcycle Club and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his siblings Bobby Johnson, Elizabeth Williams, and Gloria Cheeks.

Left to cherish loving memories are: a son Billy Moore of Taylors, SC; daughters, Deborah Cannon of Greer, SC, Debora Williams of Duncan, SC, Consander Snowden of Taylors, SC, Billie Joyce Glenn (Donnie),Tracy Johnson of Greenville, SC; brothers, (Calvin Ulysses Murray) of Greenville, SC; 15 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren, a host of great great grandchildren; former wife, Rosemary Johnson, of Greenville, SC a special friend, Catetra Byrd of Greenville, SC;  a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 4, 2020 from 1:00PM until 6:00PM at The Gilmore Mortuary.

Funeral services with Military Honors will be held at 1:30 PM Monday, August 10, 2020 in M. J. “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery, Anderson, SC .
