Mr. Douglas Beachum

Mr. Douglas Beachum, son of the late Matt L. and Mary Jones Beachum was born in Spartanburg County, SC on November 11, 1942.

Mr. Beachum joined The Mayfield Chapel Baptist Church at an early age. He attended the public schools of Spartanburg County and received a BA Degree from Rutledge College. A US Army Veteran of The Viet-Nam War, he was married to the former Shirley Ann Shell. To this union two children were born. He was a former supervisor for Springs Mill and a member of Eureka Masonic Lodge # 59.

He was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Douglas Beachum, a brother, Marvin Beachum and a sister, Gwendolyn Riser.

Surviving are: his wife, Mrs. Shirley Ann Beachum; a son, Craig Lamonte Beachum, both of the home; god-daughter, Kimberly (Charles) Wallace of Duncan; a brother, Melvin (Louise) Beachum of Greer, SC; sisters, Billie Jean (Roy) Ballenger of Greer, SC, Nannie Mae Thompson, Lydia B. (Cornelius) Davis, Emma B. Scott and Brenda B. Wright, all of Duncan, SC; grandson, Christian T. Irby of Spartanburg;  an uncle, Dec. Odell (Leitha) Jones; aunt, Sister Juanita (John) Sledge, all of Greer, SC; a host of other relatives and many friends.

 Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM, Sunday August 16, 2015 in Mayfield Chapel Baptist Church with the Pastor, Rev. William Jones, officiating. Burial will follow in The Church Cemetery.
