Edward Wayne Smith

Edward Wayne Smith 68 of 128 Phillips Avenue, died on Sunday, December 9, 2023 in his residence after a long illiness.

Native of Spartanburg County, he was a son of the late Norman and Flora Mae Green Smith, a 1973 graduate of James F. Byrnes High School, a former employee of Springs Mill in Lyman and a Baptist.

He was preceded in death by a son, Tyshaun Smith and a brother, Stanley Smith.

Surviving are: sons, Edward Smith Jr. of Wellford, SC and Marquis Smith of Spartanburg, SC; a daughter, Towanna Smith of Wellford, SC; brothers, Nathan Smith of Lyman, SC and Ted Smith of Duncan, SC; sisters, Janice Kelly of Inman, SC, Francis Smith of Duncan, SC and Deborah Miller of Greer, SC; 7 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Viewing will be from 1:00 until 5:00 PM on Friday, December 15, 2023 in The Rev. John H. Gilmore Slumber Room of The Gilmore Mortuary.

A Celebration of Life will be 2:00 PM Saturday December 16, 2023 in The Gilmore Mortuary Chapel.
