Eversia Alice (Smith) Sheard

Mrs. Eversia A. Sheard of 25 Charles Drive was called from labor to reward on Thursday January 23, 2020 at her residence.

A native of Asheville, NC, she was a daughter of the late Luther and Alice Boman Smith and a widow of Roy Allen Sheard.

Eversia was a member of Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Lyman where she was a former usher and the  former Vice President of the Missionary Society, a former member of Sisters of Leisure Red Hat Society and Sisters and Brothers In Motion. She was a retired employee of JP Stevens in Taylors, SC.

Mrs Sheard was preceded in death by 6 brothers, Booker T. Anderson, Luther, Louie, Jerry, Walter and Robert Alfonso Smith and a sister Lavenia Smith.

Surviving are: daughters, Mary Sheard of the home, Annie Thompson of Wellford, Brenda Sheard of Riverdale, GA and Gloria Carpenter of Spartanburg; 5 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; a host of other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm, Thursday, January 30, 2020  in The Gilmore Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Randolph Hawkins, Officiating. Burial will follow in Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
