Golden Edward Rector

Golden Edward Rector Jr. 88, of 101 Cottage Creek Circle peacefully transitioned from this life on Thursday February 20, 2025 at his residence.

Native of Greer, SC, he was a son of the late Golden Edward and Vincie Lee Brooks Rector Sr., a member of Calvary Baptist Church who attended New Jerusalem Baptist Church and a former printer for Greer Printing Company.  

“Bubba”, as he was so affectionately called loved Greer High Yellow Jackets Football and he loved to watch a good baseball game.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Rector; 2 sisters, Evelyn Jones and Dorothy Downs; brothers-in-law, Henry and Joe Louis Downs and Odell Jones.

Surviving are: a brother, Jerry (Mary) Brooks of Lyman, SC; sister Mary Frances Downs of Duncan, SC; a Godson, Shannon (Chubby) Martin of Greer, SC; 5 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; a  host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.     

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday March 1, 2025 at 2:00 PM in New Jerusalem Baptist Church with the pastor, Rev. Akeem Downs and Rev. Steve Watson, officiation. Burial will follow in Needmore Cemetery.
