Taylors: Mrs. Gwendolyn Beachum Riser 62, of 1900 Boling Road Apt. 16-H, died Tuesday January 13, 2015 in Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Native of Spartanburg County, she was a daughter of the late Mat. L. and Mary Louise Jones Beachum, a member of Mayfield Chapel Baptist Church who also supported the Community Mission Baptist Church in Taylors, SC, and a former member of the National Federation of the Blind where she served as past President of the Greenville Chapter.

Gwen was preceded in death by a brother, Marvin Beachum.

Surviving are: brothers, Douglas (Shirley) Beachum of Duncan, SC and Melvin (Louise) Beachum of Greer, SC; sisters, Billy Jean (Roy) Ballenger of Greer, SC, Nannie Mae Thompson, Lydia (Cornelius) Davis, Emma B. Scott and Brenda B. Wright, all of Duncan, SC.

Services were held Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 2:00 pm in the Mayfield Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. William L. Jones, officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
