M/SGT (US Army Retired) Rev. Hoover Latta 93, of 1001 Carriage Park Circle was born in Taylors, SC on October 22, 1928.
He was a son of the late Clifton and Parthenia Benson Latta and the widow of the former Mary Wood.
Educated in the public schools of Greenville County, he was a world War II and Korean War retired veteran of The U S Army after 20 years of service.
He was a lifelong member and Associate Pastor of Enoree Fork Baptist Church.
Rev. Latta was a retired Senior Laboratory Technician for Morton Thiokol Aerospace and Chemical Engineering Company in Greenville, SC.
He departed this life on Sunday December 5, 2021 in Pelham Medical Center, Greer, SC.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Nairn, a grandson, Jacoby Latta and his siblings, Mellonee Cox, Thomas C., Floyd and Wilbur Latta.
Surviving are: his daughter, Stufona Latta of the home; sons, Stefan (Allison) Wood of Taylors, SC and Stuart (Xaviera) Latta of Irmo, SC; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends
Viewing will be held Saturday, December 11, 2021 from 1:00 until 6:00 PM in The Fred Singleton Slumber Room of The Gilmore Mortuary and Sunday, December 12, 2021 from 1:00 PM until the hour of services at Enoree Fork Baptist Church.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Sunday December 12, 2021 in Enoree Fork Baptist Church with Rev. T. J. Terrell and Rev. Howard Sexton, officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Church Cemetery.
