Greenville: J D Dunbar of 2209 Parker Cone Way was beckoned by the Angel Of Death on Sunday Morning, March 31, 2019 in Heartland East Nursing Home, 601 Sulfur Springs Road, Greenville, SC.
Native of Greenville County, he was a son of the late Ed and Icola Thompson Dunbar.
He attended the public schools of Greenville County, SC and was a former employee of J. P. Stevens. He was of the Baptist Faith.
He had a pleasing personality and was loved by all that came in contact with him. He will be greatly missed in the home and the community.
He was preceded in death by: his brothers, William, James and Anthony Dunbar, his grandson, Eddie M. Thomas and Mathias Dunbar, a granddaughter, Tykharrieayah Warner, a great grandchild, 3-3; and a special companion of 24 years, the late Mary E. Parks.
He was married to the late Nathalie Ferguson Dunbar and to this union two children were born. He later married to the late Kay Frances Dunbar and to this union one child was born.
Surviving are: sons, Jeffery and Derrick Dunbar of Greenville, SC and George Parks of Duncan, SC.; daughters, Natasha Pugh of the home and Sabrina Parks of Wellford, SC; 18 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm, Saturday, April 5, 2019 in The Gilmore Mortuary Chapel.
Services are entrusted to the care of The Gilmore Mortuary.
