James Leroy Grant

James “Mickey” Leroy Grant, of 117 Will Street, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday October 28, 2022 in Prisma Health Greer Memorial Hospital.

Native of Spartanburg County, he was a son of the late Alvin Phillips and Mary Grant and the widow of the late Karatha Woods Grant.

Educated in the public school system of Greenville County, he was a graduate of Greer High School, class of 1973, a former machine operator and a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Greer.

Left to cherish loving memories are sons, Alvin Ellis of Greer, SC and Anthony Woods of Spartanburg, SC; daughters, Ida “Necie” Ellis, Mary (Ray) Carmichael of Conway, SC and Martha (Robert) Key of Killeen, TX; 13 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews' other relatives and many friends.

Viewing will be held from 1:00 until 6:00 PM Friday, November 4, 2022 in the Fred Singleton Slumber Room of the Gilmore Mortuary.

Funeral Services will be 3:00 PM Saturday, November 5, 2022 in Cedar Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Jerome Rabb, officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain View cemetery in Greer, SC.
