Jannie Elaine (Earle) Smith

Mrs. Jannie Elaine Smith, wife of Grady Smith of 1100 Waypoint Drive, was born on April 20,1956 in Allen-Bennett Hospital, Greer, SC. She was a daughter of the late Marion Gilliam and the late Dorothy Jant Earle.

She received her formal education in the public schools of Greenville County, SC and was a 1974 graduate of Greer High School.

Jannie was a member of The United House of Prayer for All People in Greer, SC. where she served as the President of Presidents, member of the Young Adult Ushers (Y.A.U.), and a band booster. She was formerly employed by J P Stevens as a machine operator.

Jannie loved her family. Her sense of humor was second to none. She loved spending family time cracking jokes when she wasn’t shopping.

Early Sunday Morning, May 29,2022 she was summoned from her earthly home in Greer, SC to her heavenly home.

Also surviving are: sons, Dale (Dinah) Earle of Greer, SC, Reco (Sheemean) Earle of Simpsonville, SC and Alonza (Kenya) Smith of Taylors, SC; a daughter, Kenyena (Donald) Burts of Duncan, SC; brothers, Bernard Jant of the home and Charles (Nikki) Jant of Chicago, IL; sisters, Sandra Scott of Virginia Beach, VA and Eula Earle of Charlotte, NC; 22 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; a host of  nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 12:00 PM in The United House of Prayer for All People, 1134 Pendleton St, Greenville, SC, 29601.

Her remains will be placed in the church one hour before the services for visitation and viewing.

Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Greer, SC.
