Jessie Belle Bomar Porter 72, of 584 Hugh Street entered into eternal rest on Friday October 16, 2020 in Spartanburg Medical Center.
Native of Spartanburg County, she was a daughter of the late Mem and the late Annie Belle Gregory Bomar.
Educated in the public schools of Spartanburg County, SC, she was a 1966 graduate of Florence Chapel High School. She was a former employee of Racor Industries in Spartanburg and a member of Travelers Rest Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Theodore Eugene Porter, a son, Dewey Lee Porter and siblings, Frank Bomar, Ronald Bomar and Josephine Hughes.
Surviving are: a son, James Kennedy of the home; daughters, Jennifer P. (Gene) Broughton of Piedmont, SC, Cynthia Elaine (Patrick) Porter of Spartanburg, SC and Bridgette Latrice Porter of Boiling Springs, SC; brothers, Mem Jr. and Henry Eugene Bomar of Spartanburg, Michael Anthony Bomar of Greenville, SC and Rex Allen Bomar of Startex, SC; sisters, Katie Ruth Irby, Patricia Ann Ashmore and Queen Bomar and Julia Faye Foster of Spartanburg, SC; 7 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Charles Hughes of Spartanburg, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Viewing will be Saturday October 24, from 1:00 until 6:00 pm in the Fred Singleton Slumber Room of the Gilmore Mortuary.
Graveside Services will be 12 noon, Sunday, October 25, 2020 in Travelers Rest Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Leon Wright, officiating.
