Joe Benjamin Hawkins

Joe B. Hawkins was born in Devereux, GA on Saturday, October 9, 1943. He departed this earthly life on September 30, 2021 in his home, 496 McMahan Mills Road in Piedmont, SC

Joe was a son of the late Joe B. and Margaret Ree Hawkins and the widow of JoAnn Greer.

A 1961 graduate of Rochelle Senior High School in Lakeland, FL, he was a former employee of Riggers Service and Supply Company in Greenville, SC.

He was a devoted husband and father and he will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Contina Hagood

Left to cherish fond and loving memories are: sons, Joseph J. Wilkins of Greenville, SC and Curtis L. Hawkins of Milledgeville, GA; daughters, Sandra D. (Joykest Sr.) Davis of Duncan, SC and Melissa A. Hawkins of Milledgeville, GA; brothers, Clarence (Shirley) Hawkins of Lakeland, FL and David (Sylvia) Hawkins of Marietta, GA; sisters, Maedell Owens and Margaret Ann Hawkins of Lakeland, FL; 8 grandchildren, Jacorious Hagood, Paishea Hagood, Jaquevon Shell, Chance Gambrell, Zacchaeus Davis, Joykest Davis Jr. and Jordyn Davis, Blessin Hall; 2 great grandchildren; Also a special friend of the family Correll Young of Piedmont, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Viewing will be held Friday, October. 8, 2021 from 1:00 until 6:00 PM in The Rev. John H. Gilmore Slumber Room of The Gilmore Mortuary.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday October.9 2021 in the Gilmore Mortuary Chapel with Bishop Courtney Cohen, officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery.  

Covid precautions will be enforced.
