Johnny Paul Wallace, husband of Tanika Lyles Wallace of 11 Becky Gibson Road, entered into eternal rest on Friday October 21, 2022 at his residence.
Native of Spartanburg County, he was a son of Douglas Williams of Spartanburg, SC and the late Sarah Wallace and the step-son of the late Samuel Roosevelt Wallace.
Johnny was educated in the public schools of South Carolina and was an Assembler for the Lear Corporation in Duncan.
Johnny was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Greer where he served as a Sunday School Teacher and Assistant Chairman of the Trustee Board.
“J Dubb” as he was so affectionately called by all who knew him, was an avid lover of The Dallas Cowboy Football Team. He also loved people and spreading the word of God to all. His other hobbies were repairing cars, watching sports, fishing, and making new friends.
Also surviving are: his wife, Tanika Wallace of the home; sons, Marquis Lyles of Spartanburg, SC and Michael McDowell of the home; daughters, Tyeshia Wallace and Jamiya Wallace of Greer, SC and Alexus McDowell of the home; brothers, Earl Wallace of Greer, SC, Charles (Kimberly) Wallace of Duncan, SC, Maurice “Rebo” Wallace of Greenville, SC, Reginald Nesbitt and Roy Douglas (Latonya) Wilkie of Spartanburg, SC, Lamont (Betty) Williams of Wellford, SC and Rico Sanders of Lyman, SC; sisters, Mary Scott and Elinor Anderson of Greer, SC, Annette Nesbitt and Wilanda (Lance) Jackson of Spartanburg, SC, Bonita Nesbitt and Dominique (Kyon) Charles of Duncan, SC, Monique Sanders of Wellford, SC; 4 grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.
Viewing will be held from 1:00 until 6:00 PM Saturday, October 29, 2022 in the Fred Singleton Slumber Room of the Gilmore Mortuary.
Funeral Services will be 3:30 Sunday, October 30, 2022 in Cedar Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Jerome Rabb, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
