Early Monday Morning, May 16, 2022 the Lord in his great wisdom quietly dispatched an angel to escort Mr. Kendal Lamar Davis of 51 Somersett Drive out of this life to relocate to his new heavenly home.
Native of Spartanburg County, SC, he was a son of Virginia Irby Davis of Spartanburg and the late William Davis.
Educated in the public schools of Spartanburg County he was a 1991 graduate of James F. Byrnes High School where he was a member of the marching band, a US Navy Veteran, a former Conversion Supervisor for The Georgia Dome and Philip’s Arena in Atlanta, GA and a forklift driver for AFL Telecommunications in Spartanburg, SC.
“Kendall” as he was so affectionately called, was a lover of sports, music and grilling. His favorite football team was the Carolina Panthers.
Surviving are: his wife, April Cross Davis of the home; a son, Phillip (Kandace) Cornelius of Greenville, SC; a daughter, Ashia Cross of Niles MI; 2 brothers, Craig Irby of San Diego, CA and Dwain Davis of Spartanburg, SC; 5 grandchildren, Lakeshia Webster, Lauren Thomas, A’shya Cornelius, Khylin and Karter Mitchell; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Memorial Services will be held 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 21, 2022 in the Chapel of The Gilmore Mortuary with Pastor Perry Irby and Minister James Irby, officiating.
