Rev. Leon Uylesses Clark, husband of Elizabeth Gail Cox Clark of 403 Penarth Drive, was called from labor to reward on Friday, January 17, 2025 at his residence surrounded by his family.
Native of Simpsonville, SC, he was a son of the late John Edgar and Louise Coker Clark, an associate minister at Old Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church in Simpsonville, SC, a retired Truck driver for Southeastern and Estes Truck lines, a member of The Pride Of Greenville Masonic Lodge # 1 and a veteran of the US Army.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Samantha Anita Clark and his siblings, John L. Alvin, Edward, Harold and Kenneth Clark, Lois Little, Madge Abel, Margaret Shumate, Eunice Shaw and Pauline Yeargin.
Also surviving are: a son, Leon O’Bryant (Kecia) Clark of Greenville, SC; daughters, Barbara Clark of Taylors, SC, Teresa (Anthony) Whitner of Duncan, SC; brothers, Henry (Rebecca) Clark of Hesperia, CA; 10 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Viewing will be held on Monday, January 20, 2025 from 1pm-5pm in the Rev. John H. Gilmore Slumber Room of the Gilmore Mortuary.
Funeral Services will be held at 2pm Tuesday, January, 21, 2025 in Old Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Norman, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
