Linda Gail (Woodruff) Spurgeon

Ms. Linda Gail Spurgeon, daughter of Paul Watson Sr. of Greer, SC and the late Eunice Woodruff, was born in Spartanburg County, South Carolina on March 15, 1961.

Educated in the public schools of Greenville County, SC, she was a 1979 graduate of Greer High School. She furthered her education at Greenville Technical College.

She loved caring for others and worked as a healthcare professional for over 25 years. She was a former employee of Helping Hands Homecare Services and Unique Kids Daycare both in Greer, SC. 

Linda was a faithful member of Vision of Hope Ministries where she served as a minister, prayer intercessor and usher for many years.

Also left to cherish fond memories are her daughters, Jessica Lyles of Long Beach, CA and Shannon Spurgeon of Columbia, SC; brothers, Stanley Woodruff of Greenville, SC, Paul Watson Jr of Riverdale, GA, Michael Watson, Patrick Watson Sr., Lt. Jeffrey Watson and Scott (Shuarica) Watson all of Taylors, SC; Emmanuel (Jackie) Watson of Lyman, SC; sisters, Dr. Sharon (Mario) Sanders of Fountain Inn, SC and Wanda (Rev. Carl) Wells of Columbia, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, February 24, 2019 in Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 201 Jordan Rd, Lyman, SC with Apostle Effie Butler and Rev. Randolph Hawkins, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Repast will be held at Jeffrey Watson’s home: 101 Pine Dr. Taylors, SC 29687
