Randy Nathaniel Edwards Sr. of 151 Fernwood Drive Apartment 157-B transitioned to his eternal home on Monday, July 27, 2020 at his residence.
Born in Spartanburg County, SC, he attended District 5 public schools of Spartanburg County and was a son of the late Willie Lewis Edwards and Elese Porter Edwards. He was a former employee of Reeves Brothers Mill in Spartanburg, SC and was baptized at Greater Saint James Temple in Inman, SC. Mr. Edwards was a Mason at King Solomon Lodge #112 and Shriner in Spartanburg, SC. He also had a passion for football and was an avid South Carolina Gamecock and Dallas Cowboys fan. Moreover, he was a DJ for many years known as Heavy R: The Hat Man.
He was preceded in death by a brother Willie Collins.
Surviving are: his spouse Linda Copeland Edwards, a son Randy (Kimberly) Edwards Jr. of Spartanburg; three daughters, LaTonya Lewis of Greenville, SC, Casonya Jackson of Spartanburg, SC and Sasha Booker of Greer, SC; brothers, James Earl Edwards and Tracy Harris of Spartanburg, SC; sisters, Yvette Edwards and Cassandra Harris of Spartanburg, SC. 6 grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Viewing will be from 1:00 pm until 6:00 pm, Thursday, July 30, 2020 and Friday, July 31, 2020 at The Gilmore Mortuary.
