Robert L Abercrombie

Mr. Robert Lucas Abercrombie 84, husband of Shirley Dickson Abercrombie of 415 Lincoln Drive entered eternal rest on Sunday, March 29, 2020 in St. Francis Downtown Medical Center, Greenville, SC.

A native of Greenville County, he was a son of the late John and Elizabeth Morton Abercrombie.

Robert was a retired school teacher for the Richland County School District.  He was a member of Bibleway Church of Atlas Rd in Columbia, SC, and a congregational member of Aiken Chapel Baptist Church in Taylors.

He was preceded in death by his late wife Patricia M. Abercrombie, his infant daughter Sonya Y. Abercrombie and an infant son Ricardo Abercrombie.

He is survived by his wife Shirley Abercrombie of Taylors, SC; his daughter Debora D. Abercrombie of Charlotte, NC ; his sons Robert L. (Carmen) Abercrombie, Jr. of Fayetteville, NC,  Lagorda (Vanessa) Abercrombie of Columbia, SC, Lawrence O. Abercrombie of Fayetteville, NC, and Vent S. (Terri) Abercrombie, Sr. of Charlotte, NC; his grandchildren Tiffany Abercrombie, Robert L. Abercrombie III, Wayne (Cheryl) Cepeda, Keenan Goodwin, Ashley (Kevin) Noble, Courtney Williams, Vent S.(Angela) Abercrombie, Jr., Joseph Abercrombie, Jessica (Cameron) Simpson, Ricardo Abercrombie, Justin Abercrombie, Sydney Abercrombie, Sherita (Dirk) Baker, Shawnese Bennett, Joseph Bennett, 15 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of loved ones and friends.

Visitation will be 12:00PM Thursday, April 2, 2020 in Aiken Chapel Baptist Church followed by funeral services at 12:30 PM.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
