Samuel Charles Cox 78, of 241 Elmer Street, widow of Willie Bell Cox, answered the Masters Call on Thursday, July 2, 2020 in his residence.
Native of Spartanburg County, he was a son of the late Porter and Ollie Mary Thompson Cox, a former employee of Greenville Steel and a member of Bethel United Methodist Church.
Samuel was preceded in death by 2 daughters, Dorothy McCullough and Melissa Thompson, a brother, James Porter Cox and a sister, Caroline Height.
He leaves to cherish loving memories: sons, Jeffrey (Veronica) and Charles (Naeema) Cox, James Leon (Teresa) Henson all of Greenville, SC, Billy Henson of Simpsonville, SC; daughters, Betty Cox of Greenville, SC and Lorrain (James) Dean of Greer, SC, Gloria (Troy) Dillard of Wellford, SC; a brother, Rev. William (Jerusha) Drummond of Mauldin, SC; a sister, Emma Jean Littlejohn of Greer; 22 grandchildren, 30+ great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, visitation will be held on Wednesday from 1:00 pm until 6:00 pm in the Gilmore Mortuary. Please limit your visitation to a 15 minute maximum. Please wear face mask and practice social distancing at all times. Graveside Services will be held 11:00 am Thursday, July 9, 2020 in Cedar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Steve Watson, Officiating
