Minister Sylvennia Jean Wilkins, 73, of 1214 Applegate Circle, received her wings at precisely 9:44 in the morning on Thursday, December 10, 2020 in Spartanburg Medical Center, Spartanburg, SC.
Born in Campobello, SC, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Josephine Glenn Wilkins.
A member of Mountain View Missionary Baptist Church in Campobello, SC Sylvennia was educated in the public schools of Spartanburg County and was a 1965 graduate of Bethune High School. She furthered her education at Rutledge College and was formally employed as a CNA at what is now Magnolia Manor in Inman, SC.
She was predeceased by her sibling, Sarah Jane Wilkins.
Surviving are: a son, Kelvin (Shameka) Wilkins of Spartanburg, SC; daughters, Latonya Wilkins of the home and Angelia Wilkins of Greer; brothers, Lee Daniel (Hester) Wilkins of Campobello, SC, Dewitt (Bobbi) Wilkins of Neptune, NJ, Issac (Jackie) Wilkins and Noah (Sandra) Wilkins of Wellford, S C and Dr. John (Marilyn) Wilkins of Spartanburg, SC; sisters, Katherine Thomas of Wellford, SC, Hattie W. Jones and Emma Coleman of Spartanburg, SC; 6 grandchildren, Ciero,Kayla, Cnidarian, Acarrius and Kevon Wilkins and Elijah Jackson; 3 great grandchildren, Zaydein, Zyrek and Elijah Jr.; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Viewing will be Friday, December 18, 2020 from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM in the Fred Singleton Slumber Room of the Gilmore Mortuary.
Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Mountain View Baptist Church in Campobello, SC with Rev. Dr. John Wilkins, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
