Greer, SC: Theron Evans of 322 Sunny Glen Drive was a son of the late John Henry Sims and the late Mary Emma Evans. He was born on Monday June 25, 1945 in Spartanburg County, SC.
Theron attended the public schools of Greenville County, SC. He received an Associates Degree from Greenville Technical College and was a former machine operator for The John Deere Manufacturing Company in Greer, SC.
On Friday, March 8, 1968, He married the love of his life, the former Mary Louise Durham and to this union a daughter was born.
He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and a veteran of the US Army.
He loved helping others and was the epitome of perfection. He was an avid plummer, electrician and carpenter. A true “Jack Of All Trades”, he will be greatly missed in the home and the community.
He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Odessa Ivey and Debra Blakley.
On Sunday Evening, Just as the sun was beginning to set in the west and surrounded by his family, God dispatched an Angel to escort him from earth into eternity.
Surviving are: his wife, Mary L. Evans of the home; a daughter, Frankie L. Evans of Greenville, SC; a brother, Pastor Kolar (Fannie) Evans of Louisville, KY; 2 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Saturday in Bethel United Methodist Church , 105 East Arlington Avenue, Greer, SC with Bishop Herbert Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
