Valerie La'verne (Henson) Bobo

Valerie La’Verne Henson Bobo, wife of Maurice Lamar Bobo of 1254 Valentine Lane answered the Masters Call on August 31, 2021 in Spartanburg Medical Center.

Native of Greenville County, she was a daughter of  Elizabeth Robinson Henson of Greer and the late Leroy Henson.

Educated in the public Schools of Spartanburg County, she was a graduate of James F. Byrnes High School, Class of 1984. She furthered her education at Spartanburg Technical College receiving an Associates Degree in Surgical Technology. She was employed as a Surgical Technician for St. Francis Hospital and she was a member of Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Leroy Henson.

Also surviving are: a son, Maurice Nathaniel Bobo of the home; brothers, Kenneth Barnard Henson of Greer; sisters, Sharon D (Rev. Michael) Durrah and Sherry W. Owens of Lyman, SC, Annette H. (Larry) Drummond of Spartanburg, SC, Juanita (Lee) Canada of Simpsonville, SC and Cynthia Ferguson of Spartanburg, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Viewing will be Saturday, September 4, 2021 from 1:00 until 6:00 pm in the Rev. John H. Gilmore Slumber Room of The Gilmore Mortuary.

Funeral Services will be 3:00 pm Sunday, September 5, 2021 in Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Donnie Gist officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
