Mr. Donald Lee Pickett

Greer, SC:  Mr. Donald Lee Pickett 67, husband of Bertha Gibson Verner Pickett of 203 Gemini Way, died Sunday, March 19, 2017 in Spartanburg Regional Hospice House, Spartanburg, SC.  

A native of Whiteville, NC, he was a son of  the late Joseph Lawrence and Elsie Irene Smith Piggott “Pickett”, a former employee of McLamb Construction Company in Calabash, NC and a member of Shiloh Baptist Church where he served as a former member of the All Male Choir.

Also surviving are: sons, Frankie  Pickett of Garner, NC, Rickie (Shannon) Daniels of Plainfield, IN, Mark O’Bryan and Eddie Verner of the home; a daughter, Renee Pickett of Garner, NC; 4 brothers, Charles (Rena Belle) Chatman of Tabor City, NC, Roy Pickett, Kenneth (Marilyn) Pickett, both of Nakina, NC and Tommy (Ann) Pickett of Shallotte, NC; sisters, Mary Chatman of New Haven, CT,  Jennie Mae Pickett, Shirley Pickett and Sufronia P. Thomas, all of Nakina, NC; 10 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews and a host of other relatives and many friends.

Viewing will be held Friday, March 24th from 10:00 am until 7:00 pm and Saturday from 10:00am until 12:00 noon at The Gilmore Mortuary.

Visitation will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, March 25, 2017 in Shiloh Baptist Church, 485 Shiloh Church Road, Wellford, SC, followed by Funeral Services at 2:00 PM, with the pastor, Rev. Lewis Duckett, officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
